Norfolk Tides Launch Youth Field Makeover Project Application
The Norfolk Tides have officially reopened the application period for their Youth Field Makeover Project. Organizations interested in participating must submit their applications by February 6. To apply, send a photograph and a brief description of your field via email to Heather McKeating.
In past renovations, the Tides' grounds crew and staff have transformed various local baseball fields, including the Princess Anne Little League. Renovation efforts may involve regrading, leveling, and enhancing fields with turface, as well as upgrading dugouts and bleachers.
Since the project's inception in 2012, the Tides have successfully renovated 18 fields across the region, benefiting numerous local leagues. This initiative is funded through the Tides Youth Baseball Fund, established in 1990 to support youth baseball and softball programs in Hampton Roads. Contributions to this fund can be made through designated channels during the season.
